First Pediatrician Check Up 🎥
Important milestone: First check up for our newborns with the neurologist and the pediatrician. We already got some instructions at the clinic about how much formula we have to give every day and what else to do after the babies were born… but this was again a lot of useful information that we received there.
We are not sleeping enough!
Getting a child through surrogacy and therefore feeding with formula means we need to set our alarm clock every 3 hours to feed the babies. Breastfeeding is much more simple because you don’t have to get up, just roll over to offer the breast and also it is cheaper because you don’t have to buy…
Our baby’s stump fell off early!
The doctors told us it can take 1 to 2 weeks to fall off. But our first baby’s umbilical cord stump already fell off 4 days after birth, the other baby’s today (6 days after birth).
Our babies are leaving the clinic!
Finally after 3 days we are able to leave the clinic for good and bring our twins home!
Cost of Surrogacy in Georgia
How much does our program cost? We did our journey in Georgia (the country). When we went to the last meeting with the coordinator some additional costs popped up. These might be small but they are adding up, esp. when having twins.
Optional tests and vaccinations at the clinic
Today they got the metabolic screening, a blood test in that babies are being tested for various disorders before symptoms have a chance to occur. Also we had to decide if we want to have the babies vaccinated or not, i.e. follow the schedule of Georgia or of our own country.
Our babies are born
Today is February the 20th, 2023. What a nice birthday date.
The water broke
The water of our SM broke and the time between the labor pains got shorter. My partner was allowed at the ward. So she rushed there. In the meantime I ran small errands. (She came in time for the birth of the second child.)

We already had a Georgian number from our last visit and everybody told us it is as simple as topping up our balance. But it was not as easy as that.
Where to stay when travelling with a baby
Since we had to arrive on short notice we had to quickly find a place to stay. We found a nice appartment 6 minutes walking distance from our clinic.
